Risk Management Unit, a part of the CAO

Employee Wellness Program

The Risk Management Unit is responsible for providing comprehensive, pro-active services that promote the health, wellness and safety of County of Alameda employees and the public; reduce the County's loss exposures; and minimize the total cost of risk to the County.

The Alameda County Employee Wellness Program is one of the programs designed to fulfill this mission. Dedicated to building a healthy, productive workforce, its goal is to:

  • Enhance the health and well being of Alameda County employees and their families;
  • Foster increased productivity and improved morale; and
  • Decrease the cost of health plans, absenteeism, presenteeism, (lost performance at work), and preventable workers� compensation claims

The Wellness Website is co-sponsored by the CAO Risk Management Unit and the Health Care Labor Management Committee and features a wealth of resources and information in the categories of Fitness and Nutrition, Stress Management, Disease Management and Prevention, Financial Fitness, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and Health News and Resources.
