HIV/AIDS Housing
Information and Referrals
Alameda County contracts with Eden I&R to run the Aids Housing and Information Project (AHIP) to provide Information and Referral services to the HIV/AIDS community about affordable and emergency housing opportunities. The program has been in place since the early 1990s and serves between 250-400 clients a year.
AHIP works closely with AIDS service organizations and case managers through Alameda County to serve people living with HIV/AIDS, their families, and caregivers. The AHIP Coordinator assess needs, makes appropriate referrals to housing and social services, and will follow up to ensure the needs are addressed.
