Fee Increase Notice
Effective November 1, 2023 Wells Drilling Permit fees will increase. View the new fee schedule.
With the increased fees, the County will be able to maintain the required level of on-site verifications and reporting to ensure compliance with the requirements of various County and State agencies.
Drilling Permit Application
You may apply for a permit online, by mail, by fax, or in-person:
Online Application
Requirements:
- You must submit at least 10 work days prior to the planned start of work date.
- The drilling site must be within the Public Works Jurisdiction.
- You must provide Well Specifications.
- You must provide Property Owner Information.
- Permit fees may be paid by credit card* online or by mailing in check**.

Make check payable to: Treasurer, County of Alameda
*Credit card is not charged until application is approved
**If paying by check, check must be received by Water Resources before application can be approved. - After you submit the application, a project site map must be submitted before permits are issued.
