Adopted Policies
AC Renew
The Measure A1-funded Renew AC program is administered in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Renew AC helps homeowners make renovations necessary to stay, grow, and thrive in their homes. Renew AC can make your home improvement plans come to life - without breaking the bank. Renew AC provides 1% interest loans from $15,000 to $150,000 to qualified homeowners. Simple interest is accrued annually, with total interest never to exceed 50% of amount borrowed, and payments are deferred until the home is sold. You may be eligible if your household earns no more than 80% of AMI. Commonly, home repairs fit into three broad groups: Health & Safety Hazards, Accessibility, and Structural Rehabilitation.
AC Boost
The Measure A1-funded AC Boost program is administered in partnership with Hello Housing. Lower-income, first- time homebuyers earning a maximum of 120% AMI may be eligible to receive down payment assistance with a maximum loan amount of $210,000. The program encourages County residents and workers to buy homes near their work, benefits displaced residents, and makes homes affordable to those who could not afford them otherwise. The flexibility of the program allows borrowers to contribute little to no down payment. This is a deferred payment, shared appreciation loan secured by a deed of trust with a 30-year term. Eligible properties include single family residences including condos, townhomes, lofts and live/work units. There is preference in the application process for Educators and First Responders.
