Shopping Cart Abatement

Maintenance and Operations staff respond to reports of abandoned shopping carts found on County roads and flood channel properties. Carts removed from County roads and flood control channels are placed in an impound yard. The cart owner is contacted to retrieve them. Carts not retrieved within 30 days are crushed and/or recycled. Citizens can help by contacting store managers directly to retrieve their carts from various locations.
