Street Light Services
The Alameda County Public Works Agency provides street lighting services in the unincorporated area of Alameda County. In August 1996, the County obtained a loan to purchase approximately 6,700 street lights from PG&E. Current cost savings from this purchase are offsetting rising energy costs. Street Lighting CSA services are funded by service charges paid by benefiting property owners. These charges are listed on property tax bills under "Fixed Charges and/or Special Assessments. "The County provides street lighting for vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the following communities:
- Ashland
- Castro Valley
- Cherryland
