Black Expo 2016

Alameda County participated in the 25th Annual Bay Area Black Expo on July 23, 2016, Oakland, CA.

Linda Moore of General Services Agency’s Office of Acquisition Policy (OAP) provided the coordination and support for the County’s participation. Agencies that participated included: Community Development Agency, District Attorney’s Office Victim-Witness Assistance, Environmental Health Vector Control, General Services Agency, Human Resources, Probation, Public Health, Public Works Agency and Social Services Agency. The event took place outdoors at the Frank Ogawa Plaza. Some of the official sponsors in attendance were: City of Oakland, Kaiser Permanente, BART, Fox 2, the HUB and Imagine Affairs. Vendors ranged from non-profits to local retail businesses and included educational institutions and government agencies. Various performers provided the entertainment for both adults and children as well. This is one of the largest African-American, multi-ethnic events in the Bay Area in support of small local Oakland businesses.
